-1 and -1 for both 3.1 and 3.2.

Yes, it XPASSes, both versions.
Any other information I can give? Some random thoughts:
LANG is 'C' in my compilation and runtime environment (should not matter,
right?). Are there locale-related system-configuration files which glibc
reads which might affect this?
Hmmmm... it's not a stock glibc 2.2.5, some to think of it. It's "glibc
2.2.5 build 3" from Debian. I can send the changelog from stock 2.2.5 if
that would help. There is a Red Hat 7.0 box here but it's currently in
production mode and shouldn't be played with. I have access to a Slackware
box with a 2.95.3 compiler if that would help.
