Be aware that the Loki code contains some typos and other errors. Andrei
says that he couldn't run it through a compiler for checking because there
are no released compilers that can handle Loki. (And if we GCC people
don't that /that/ as a challenge then we should be replaced.)
I suggested to Andrei that he put the code up on sourceforge in CVS, rather
than a zip file on the book publisher's site, so that the little typos and
whatnot could be fixed easier and propogated faster. He seemed to like
the idea. (There is a "loki" library already at SF for MPEG handling,
but it seems that no activity has ever happened with it.)

(Once 3.0 is released and Loki is stable, I can think of another C++
library that might could accept some more files under 'ext'...)
