I think I finally got your problem and commited a fix to CVS, please 
test it and tell me if it works. The problem is that I dorgot the 
#fdefs for DISABLE_JAVA_NET. newlib doesnt support network sockets, 
it seems. Now libgcj should "work" for you again.
