Well that's technically incorrect, there are a number of counter
examples. Of course it is not an efficient way of writing a
compiler if the eventual target is machine language.
In any case JGNAT is a counter example, as is the similar
product from Intermetrics, and this is true whether or not
the JGNAT code is placed at the FSF!
