I don't think that's a factor.  Way back when we started egcs, we were
firm on conducting as much business in public as possible.  (Yes, there's
the steering committee list, but it often goes two weeks at a time without
a single message).

If someone wants to start a GCC analog to kerneltrap, more power to them.

I'm certainly open to arguments from people who want to claim that some
GCC deficiency is release-critical, as long as they are willing to provide
high-quality Bugzilla reports.  Of course we might have to decide to ship
anyway.
