- Subject: built gcc
Dear GCC,
I built gcc-3.3.2 on a Dell Latitude i686-pc-linux (from config.guess) with
dual boot Win2K/RedHat 6.2, kernel 2.2.16, with binutils 2.9.5, glibc 2.1.3.
Your instructions say not to install to /usr/local if I have a previous
version of gcc. If I just say
make install --prefix /usr/local/gcc-3.3.2
will that do the trick?
I passed no arguments to configure.
I think I mailed you the test_summary output but I'm not sure the script
worked. The first time it ran it couldn't find srcdir/LAST_INSTALL. I ran
it again and it ran suspiciously fast, so I ran it again sending the output
to myself and didn't receive anything.
Thanks in advance for advice on installing.
Best regards,
David Gillman
