They are listed in the maintainers file. In general, you can ignore everyone but the one maintainer who is going to approve your patch, though, often other people do have good ideas, and usually the maintainer will expect that the reasonable issues raised are addressed. Now, an expert should be able to figure out the reasonable issues from the unreasonable ones, but it is sometimes hard for non-exerts to figure this out. I don't have a good suggestion on improving this situation.


I think the reason that most maintainers don't just cut things off, is it comes across kinda, I know better than you, and doing so takes time and would spawn a longer discussion.... Also, sometimes people can chime in with interesting tidbits that the maintainer (or others) might be interested in reading or understanding.
