Ken,
Thanks. The light bulb (in my head) is coming on but it is rather dim. I will install a compiler from the Solaris Studio one collection. I need to make gcc available to a developer. I the most 'knowledgeable' on Unix here for the moment. I'll put it in /usr/local. He will have access to it (chmod). the thing is what is the next couple of step. Is that it?
