True, but the patch is required only for 2.95.2 or
older (according to the docs). 2.95.2.1 or 2.95.3
should work fine unmodified with glibc 2.2. Anyhow, if
we want to continue support for these older gccs, I
think we should add a note for 3.0.x. I know for a
fact that gcc 3.0.4 won't build on glibc 2.3.x
unmodified (due to changes in __ctype_b,
__ctype_tolower and __ctype_toupper).
