so, why can't we just ignore them? we are neither dependant on any company
(although support of the above mentioned companies and others is highly
appreciated), nor do we need to act against any company.

do we need to adjust the paths SCO has settled in? i think, we (as customers for
any OS) should try support any possible OS in our software.
i see your point, and it makes me very angry too, but i doubt depracating SCO in
GCC will make things better...
