Yes, gfortran is longer to type, but the compile step can be done with
gcc and most folks will use a Makefile anyway.

Oh, we probably have to support g95 and f95 as aliases for the compiler anyway, to make it transparent for all those users coming in from rival U*X implementations :-)


Now the interesting question is what the nickname for the Fortran 2000 compiler will be (f2000 ? f2k ? FMM ?).
