I won't argue here, but I will fix errors of fact.

Evidently Nathanael thinks that the invariant sections are a new
restriction. They aren't. The old GCC manuals had the same concept,
requiring the GPL and "Funding Free Software" to be included verbatim
in any derivative work. The GCC manual was never under the GPL. It
used to have its own custom license.

They may well have violated the license, in that case.
