- Subject: gcc installation problem
Dear colleague,
I was trying to install gcc on my ps with linux and run into the error:
[root@augusto gcc]# /root/gcc-3.2/configure
Configuring for a i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld host.
Created "Makefile" in /root/gcc using "mt-frag"
/root/gcc-3.2/configure: cc: command not found
*** The command 'cc -o conftest -g conftest.c' failed.
*** You must set the environment variable CC to a working compiler.
[root@augusto gcc]#
Apparently this linux (Mandrake 8.2) does not come with a compiler at all?
I searched and I could not find it. What can I do? My idea of installing
gcc was precisely to compile other programs, since it is a compiler...
I appreciate any help you can give me.
Sincerely,
Pedro Augusto
