Something terribly wrong with gcc-3.0.4 Linux

- Subject: Something terribly wrong with gcc-3.0.4 Linux
I installed the RH7.2 update gcc-3.0.4 and now there seem to be some
things terribly wrong. I filed 3 bug reports with gcc-bugs, but I
think I should mention them here as well.
1) All code linked with -static will segfault.
2) profile-arcs is broken.
3) It appears that std::cout buffering is broken.
