Another question: how have you set up accounts in this Bugzilla? How have
passwords been assigned? (Presumably people need to request a password
before their account is active?) How have you defined who has what access
to the database? (Those who currently have GNATS write access should have
equivalent access to this database, others should have no more access than
anonymous users currently have - able to submit new bug reports and add
comments and maybe attachments to existing ones, but no more. However,
this is for the final version, looser permissions may be right for
experiments. Also, we should perhaps assign new passwords rather than
carrying over the existing gnatsweb ones.) Can we define that multiple
email addresses, used to submit / comment on / edit PRs, only relate to
one person and should have one account?
Before any move to Bugzilla, you should set up archived gcc-bugs, gcc-prs
mailing lists and gcc-gnats alias on your system so that when
experimenting we can test how Bugzilla activity relates to the mailing
lists and whether any changes are needed in that regard, and the
converters for GNATS messages to gcc-gnats. Also work out the patch to
log_accum (in the Sourceware CVS) to allow CVS log messages to be appended
to bugs - testing this might require setting up a copy of the CVS
repository for test checkins.
