The context was merging from multiple vendors or sources, which doesn't
apply to gcc/doc/install.texi nor the libstdc++ web pages.

I can't speak for gcc/doc/* but I've found $Id$ to be useful in the web
pages.  Other keywords (Log or History or whatnot) are just annoying and
redundant, IMHO.
