It certainly won't hurt.  It also won't really work in general --
I know that for G++ a lot of the tests will pass/fail for "silly"
reasons.  In general, we know that the testsuite performance is
OK relative to 2.95.x because we know that we have only XFAILed
tests that were regressions from GCC 2.95.

I am more interested in people building from the tarballs, and
then running the resulting compiler on whatever code is handy.
Still, what you suggest is not a bad idea.
