Cross compiler documentation

The new install manual has some limited documentation of building and
install cross compilers, and a statement "(note installing cross compilers
will be easier in the next release!)" which has been there since EGCS 1.0.
The old manual has some further documentation, which is probably out of
date. The new manual also references the crossgcc FAQ.
Could someone familiar with building cross-compilers and toolchains -
including "Canadian crosses" - go through all this documentation and
arrange for the new install manual to contain sufficient information for
someone to build any kind of cross, even if the crossgcc FAQ is still
worthwhile reading (and for the information in the old manual to be
superseded by that in the new and so disappear)?
