I do not know what is wrong with the patch. I did not write the
patch.

IBM is distributing the GNUPro source code along with the binaries
in the "AIX Toolkit for Linux". It is not practical to compare the
delivered source code against the FSF repository, nor to submit patches
without understanding them.
