That's maybe another point in favor of intermediate and defined API
in the compiler (eg front-end, middle-end and back-end). In this way,
the various phases of the compiler could be tested independently and
much faster and thus on a per patch basis.
Isn't that called pipelining, by the way ;-)
Of course, full bootstrapping is also useful as a complement, and for
the time being we have no other choice since we do not even have the
tests for such an incremental testing.
But for the long term, it might be a good solution provided that the
political problems can be worked around...
