As you point out, the problem with that is machine resources. Our
three autobuilders (GNU/Linux, AIX, Solaris) all run on machines that
are used for other purposes -- two of those are not even our machines.
So, clearly, one of the obstacles to doing this kind of automated
thing is to find enough machines to make it workable. And then
there's a significant amount of software to be written. And, of
course, we'd have to convince everyone that it was a good thing to do.
