Do you know that the VAX port now has an official SC-appointed maintainer? It's
Dave Anglin <dave@hiauly1.hia.nrc.ca>. He has running VAXen as do I. Would you
please in the future check with him before making commits like to a dead port?
(Dave and I initially agreed that I would be the secondary maintainer, but the
SC didn't approve that.)
Dave, have you got your CVS write working yet? Could you add yourself to
MAINTAINERS to avoid this sort of confusion?
As for the vax port not building at the moment, Dave has made a patch which he
shared with me but hasn't posted yet, which fixes it. This patch has undergone
extensive testing by both of us. Now we'll have to repeat it all over with your
patch instead. I just started a build and I'll go to sleep after I finish
typing this, tomorrow we'll see where it gets.
Richard, I know very well that you are a blanket write priv maintainer, but I
would very much appreciate you being more considerate next time.
