I used
-DSPEC_CPU -DNDEBUG -O2 -ffast-math -fwhole-program -flto=jobserver
-fuse-linker-plugin -DSPEC_CPU_LP64 -fno-strict-aliasing
I got the same error with gold 1.11 from CVS:
