Would it be OK to leave #includes of the standard library? Of course, I will
try to strip off as much code as possible.

I believe it is a GCC bug, because there is no difference with the example I
sent, except that there is more code around it -- but the base class and the
template child class are just as simple and are used exactly the same way,
yet specifying the template key word still produces the same parse error.

It depends on what you mean with "it doesn't solve the problem with my
code". 
Probably, your code has other bugs in it which were not detected before. If
you 
are unable to fix them and/or you believe there really are bugs in GCC,
isolate 
another test-case and submit a new bug. 

In the worst scenario, if you are totally unable to isolate it, reduce your 
code as much as possible and send in a full preprocessed file, we will look
