But the failing test case:

  extern inline int foo (void) { return 23; }
  int bar (void) { return foo (); }
  extern int foo (void) __attribute__ ((weak, alias ("xxx")));

does have that form.  I take it this is supposed to be legal because
the definition is "extern inline"?
