I was thinking of trying a v850-* even though it is not an RTEMS CPU.
Glad to hear someone else has. :)

RTEMS uses newlib and is itself very dependent on it.  We distribute
our pthreads.h and limits.h with newlib. :)

I would not think sh-elf should have a dependency on newlib though.
