gcc-2.95.2 and glibc-2.1.3

gcc gurus,
Alright, I am having continual problems getting gcc to compile with the glibc-2.1.3 release. I have tried using egc-1.1.2 and gcc-2.95.2 (a precompiled binary) to compile it and I get the same error... I have also attempted the compile with several versions of binutils... there is as follows:
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `thr-.c', needed by `thr-.o'. Stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/gcc-2.95.2-build/i686-pc-linux-gnu/libobjc'
make[1]: *** [all-target-libobjc] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/gcc-2.95.2-build/'
make: *** [bootstrap] Error 2

If you can provide any suggestions that would be very nice, otherwise keep up the good work.
