Experiencing unreproducible internal compiler errors <<whinge>>

I have encountered internal compiler errors with gcc 2.95.2, but they are
unreproducible in that with all cases the problem did not reappear when
make was immediatley reinvoked.

I am running Mandrake 7.0 on a K7, and have done nothing in the way of
meddling with the kernel or gcc as it was installed by Mandrake 7.0.

I have had these problems when compiling :

1) Xmame (an arcade game machine emulator), versions 0.36b16.1 and
0.36rc1.1, for the "X11 with DGA" graphics target.

2) MICO version 2.3.1 with the following configuration :
   ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-final --disable-mini-stl

-------

With Xmame the first error I encountered was :

<< This is with version 0.36b16.1 My initial reaction was that this is a
Mandrake problem, make was reinvoked and compilation of the offending
driver proceeded. However a few days later (today) I was compiling
   version 0.36rc1.1 when : >>

Damn lost the transcipt (whoops) <<sheepish grin>>
Anyhoo, it was a "recieved signal 9" internal compiler error.
And again, simply reinvoking make solves the problem.

I realise this is probably a useless report, it's more to satisfy my desire
to whinge then anyhing else.

Enjoy!
