Running "make check" still results in one unexpected failure
FAIL: tcomplex.cc -O execution
Applying H.J.'s `A new patch for the x86 -fpic and
-fomit-frame-pointer bug'
Mon Jul 13 08:36:01 1998 H.J. Lu (hjl@gnu.org)
* config/i386/i386.h (CONST_DOUBLE_OK_FOR_LETTER_P): Return 0
for PIC if reload is not completed yet.
lets "make check" pass without this failure (there aren't any
regressions to unpatched sources).
Jeff (and other Intel experts), are there any objections against this
patch? I believe the Intel CPUs don't have enough registers that we
can calmly do without the additional frame pointer register
(e.g. dhrystones drop by 20%!)
