Broken gcc -V option support in egcs-1.0.3 and 980707 snapshot

Hi!

gcc command line option -V (to allow use version different from
one of driver one) is broken both in egcs-1.0.3 release and
also 980707 snapshot (haven't tested with 980715 yet):

This option is errorously transfered also to AS which should not be
done as GAS does not understands this.

System:
Pentium MMX 200, 32Mb, Linux kernel 2.0.35, libc-5.4.44

Output of 'gcc -v -V 2.7.2.3 -c gtext.cc' is given below
