Hi. This is more of a build problem than a compiler bug. The compiler itself
seems to work fairly well on AIX 4.3.1. It would appear that there is a flaw
in the part of the build process where the system header files are fixed:
In /usr/include/Xm/XmStrDefs.h, line 5469, IBM provides the following construct:
/*#ifdef IBM_MOTIF*/
#define XmSTRING_DEFAULT_CHARSET XmSFONTLIST_DEFAULT_TAG_STRING
/*#else
#define XmSTRING_DEFAULT_CHARSET XmS
#endif IBM_MOTIF*/
The egcs build procedure incorrectly "fixes" this into the following:
/*#ifdef IBM_MOTIF*/
#define XmSTRING_DEFAULT_CHARSET XmSFONTLIST_DEFAULT_TAG_STRING
/*#else
#define XmSTRING_DEFAULT_CHARSET XmS
#endif
(note the missing "IBM_MOTIF */" after the last #endif)
System Info:
Hardware: RS/6000 43p (ppc604e)
OS: AIX 4.3.1 w/ Motif 2.1
EGCS info: gcc version egcs-2.90.29 980515 (egcs-1.0.3 release)
