I did the following:
  gunzip gcc-3.2.tar.gz
  tar xvf gcc-3.2.tar
  cd gcc-3.2
  mkdir objdir
  cd objdir
  ../configure
It ran for a while and failed:
configure: error: *** unable to determine endianness

Release:
gcc-3.2

Environment:
SPARC Solaris 2.5.1, SUN Compiler CC version 5.0

How-To-Repeat:
Did the following:
  
  gunzip gcc-3.2.tar.gz
  tar xvf gcc-3.2.tar
  cd gcc-3.2
  mkdir objdir
  cd objdir
  ../configure

State-Changed-Why: Could you try with GCC 3.2.2? GCC 3.2.1, 3.2.2 and 3.2.3pre
    configure fine on the sparc-solaris2.5.1 box I have access to.

No feedback for 3 months, others cannot replicate the problem. Closed. If the submitter still 
encounters these problems, send a message, and the bug can be reopened.
