Could you try the corrected patch on your benchmarks?

The performance with the patch is worse for the first string::find
benchmark in our testsuite:

  s = "aabbaabbaaxd adbffdadgaxaabbbddhatyaaaabbbaabbaabbcsy";
  f = "aabbaabbc";
  s.find(f);
