[v3] freebsd6.2 fails

This patch should fix up 4 of the excess errors fails on freebsd.

Of interest is the "C" files that have link errors for atomic_flag
run tests due to missing libsupc++ issues. On these two files, I added
-shared-libgcc to the dg-options flag in front of -lstdc++. I hope this
will be sufficient.

 tested x86/linux
