Thank you for the (usual) wide range testing.

Therefore, I'm planning to commit very soon to mainline the below 
variant - which fixes a thinko relevant for targets not supporting 
wchar_t at all (an else was missing in GLIBCXX_ENABLE_WCHAR_T), nothing 
should change for Solaris.
