Sorry, I just re-read that bugzilla list. It seems as if that is a
feature enhancement, and that this goo is what is going to be the
current approach. Boo.

I'll write the feature enhancement.

However, I'm going to insist that you put in a placeholder test case in
the testsuite for this. We will never be able to track this linkage issue without it.
