No problem. Actually, your other pending patch is absolutely complete, 
if considered, as it should, a proposal (I'm coming to it tomorrow or 
monday latest), besides the performance testcase, I mean ;)

Anyway, this new idea seems very nice in principle, indeed: it's always 
good to increase the coverage!

However, I must report that people start vaguely complaining, not always 
explicitly, not always completely seriously, that the time it takes to 
run our testsuite is increasing quickly. Probably people will just get 
used to this, probably it's unavoidable. Still, let's wait a bit for 
other opinions before embarking in the work and please give this issue 
special attention: in my opinion, a good compromise would be 
instantiating *only once* each  available specialization. Are you aiming 
for this already?
