Ah, I must have missed that message.  I'll definitely check it out
when you're finished.

In the mean time, I'll add my proposed change into the gcc-3.4 tree I
maintain at work, and not worry so much about making a polished patch
for contribution to gcc.  It also avoids the fact that I don't have a
current employer copyright assignment.  I'll see about taking care of
that real soon now.
