First, thanks! Indeed, I agree that you are actually just extending the
approach that we have already agreed upon. Unfortunately, I'm leaving
just now and will not be able to review the patch in detail (and commit
it) before the end of next week.

For now, many thanks again: v7 will be *much* better than v6!
