Resolution to PR 16715 causing linker errors?

I updated my system to FC2, and now the problem's gone. This is my
personal box, so I can't [be bothered to] downgrade it and test further.

io-inst.o and libstdc++.so both contain the symbols now.

Maybe it was all a dream!
