debug_mode docs out-of-sync with the final C++ bits??

Hi,

I have got the impression that, browsing the docs it's not completely 
clear that the final approach does NOT involve a new 'link_name' 
attribute, as in the orginal proposal (up to version6): just search 
debug_mode.html for 'link_name': I think everyone gets the impression 
that the attribute is actually used in the committed version.

Are the docs still in flux, somewhat?
