[Patch] Fix (similarly) libstdc++/9178 and 11305

Hi,

the fix it's simple: just properly upper bound, either the number
of external bytes for a given get area (underflow) or the number
of external bytes for a given put area (overflow).

Tested x86-linux. Ok?
