I'm afraid that it is:
i386-freebsd4 & i386-freebsd5

Canonical intel-like is i386 on freebsd.  Regarding the need for
both freebsd4 and freebsd5: wchar support wasn't in freebsd4,
threading changed in major ways, etc.  freebsd5 not installed
yet since still no "stable" branch yet.
