HUGE_VAL is a historic name for this.  Early implementation really meant 
a huge value since they had no Inf.  For modern architectures the 
meaning was taken over.  Since gcc has to support either we have to do 
one group something wrong.  There is no good reason to break with 
existing practice so we might as well stick with HUGE_VAL:
