Patching libstdc++ into GCC 2.95.3

I think there is a bug in the STL on GCC 2.95.3. I rebuilt GCC 3.1.1 which
solved the problem, but I would like to patch this for GCC 2.95.3 (we must
use this compiler).

How do I go about doing this? and what do I have to watch out for?

I am relatively knew with the GNU toolset, but I believe I need to rebuild
the libstdc++ libraries for the fix.
