Thanks Peter. Indeed I could reproduce the problem here, and very 
probably it's my fault :-(
Two questions:
1- hash_map is ok?
2- Are you willing to prepare also a patch for testsuite? I think a new 
file is in order: testsuite/ext/hash_set.cc (You can follow closely the 
example of rope.cc)
