You are right: this is an issue. I'd been meaning to look at this but I'm really trying to firm up named locale support for 3.1, and only have a limited number of cycles at the moment. Solaris 2.8, Solaris 2.7 in particular should have more stuff enabled for both POSIX2 (IEEE 103xxx) and C99. -benjamin
