in_avail() bug. Nobody cares??

Because you didn't include a patch, or any other analysis.  

Who do you think does the work, elves?  It's quite enough work
installing patches and test cases and running builds and tests,
without being pestered by people who can't be bothered to do
anything themselves.  If your bug is in the bug tracking system,
it will get fixed eventually.  If it's not, you have nothing to 
complain about.  If you need it fixed sooner, send a patch or pay 
somebody else to send a patch, or at least identify where such a 
patch would go.

If you would like to help, your help would be welcome.
If you just like to complain, we already have as many 
complainers as we can use.
