You have a point.

The automake rules should do the right thing, IMHO. It's hard to argue 
for correct automake usage in the libstdc++-v3 install routines if these 
very routines then don't work....

Assuming automake worked correctly, it would be nice to get rid of this 
as extra cruft in the v3 Makefiles.

(I guess this is really not a big deal.)
