The 2.91 library snapshot will not work under gcc 2.95.2; the compiler
and its config files are too old.  You will need to use one of the more
recent compiler snapshots.

The installation instructions for libstdc++-v3 are outdated in this respect.
I have updated instructions in my local tree and will check them in shortly.
